CAVE SPRING, Va. (WDBJ) – People gathered Friday morning to celebrate the life of a little girl whose presence touched the lives of many.

11-year-old Meg Burrow had a condition known as CTBP1, which affected her mobility and speech. She was just the 13th person in the world to be diagnosed with it.

After fighting a hard and long battle since she was a toddler, Meg died last week.

At the celebration of life, people sang and worshiped together to honor Meg’s life, journey and how she moved mountains in everyone’s heart.

”I love you, sweetheart, and look at all these people you brought together. You’ve done an amazing job. You weren’t dealt the best hand, but you took it like a champ,” said Teagan Burrow, Meg’s sister.

Whether it was babies or butterflies, her family says she found joy in just about anything, including saying the Pledge of Allegiance almost every day.

Meg also had quite the personality.

“She was sassy. She often loved to kick me out of the hospital room or put me in a corner, I can still hear her saying bye-bye or go right there,” said Meredith Burrow, Meg’s mother.

Meg was very easy to love.

She always had the support of her parents, her two big sisters and anyone who met her.

While it will not be easy for Meg’s family to heal, her sister Teagan says everything she does will be in memory of her sister.

“Everything I do will be for Meg for now on. Whether that’s riding bikes, doing a new sport, anything like that will all be for Meg,” said Teagan Burrow.

Her mother also says she will continue to spread the word about all those mountains Meg climbed during her battle and the story of her daughter’s wonderful life.
