HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – St. Joseph Catholic Schools released a statement about the injury of a middle school student athlete.
The statement said it happened on the field of play Thursday night.
Earlier Friday, the athletic department at Fairland Local Schools posted on Facebook that a St. Joseph student suffered a severe injury on the final play of a game at Fairland.
The St. Joseph’s statement did not specify the child’s name, type of competition or location of the incident.
The St. Joseph statement described it as a serious injury. It also gave, “Thanks to God for the emergency medical staff as well as the hospital staff who administered wonderful care.”
St. Joseph did not provide further details, citing health privacy laws in the need to provide privacy for the family.
