FULSHEAR, Texas (Gray News/TMX) – An officer in Texas was caught on camera wrangling an alligator with his bare hands.
The Fulshear Police Department posted the bodycam footage of Lieutenant Bill Henry in a Facebook post on Aug. 23.
In the video, Henry talks to the apparent homeowner, who points to the alligator found right at the front door.
“Are you going to pick him up?” a bystander is heard saying in the video.
Henry responds that he has a pole, but opts to grab the alligator with his hands since he says “this one is kind of small.”
The alligator is seen hissing at Henry multiple times before the officer grabs it by the back of its neck and walks away with it secured.
“Look at you, you’re a hero,” a woman seen in the video says.
The Fulshear Police Department said in their Facebook post that they have a message for Henry after reviewing the video.
“You can take the boy out of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the boy,” they said.
