FAIRVIEW, Ore. (KPTV/Gray News) – A small plane crashed in a neighborhood in Oregon on Saturday morning.

According to a statement from the Port of Portland, the crash happened around 10:20 a.m. near the Troutdale airport.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the plane was a twin Cessna 421C, NBC reported.

“We do not yet know how many people were on board. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate,” the agency said in a statement.

Port of Portland and Gresham fire and medical crews are on the scene.

According to a spokesperson for Port of Portland, the plane departed from the Troutdale airport some time before it crashed.

The extent of the damage and injuries are not clear at this time, but at least one home appeared to be completely engulfed by flames. Smoke was rising from the scene of the crash.

There are also 9,000 reported power outages in the immediate area, according to PGE.
