An urgent appeal has been launched to trace a pensioner who disappeared in Edinburgh. Karen Ross has not been seen since this morning, when she was spotted near Balcarres Street.
She was last seen in the area, which contains an entrance to Morningside Cemetery, at around 9.30am. Police Scotland say the 66-year-old was wearing black trainers, black trousers and a navy blue shirt.
She is of medium build, wears glasses, has shoulder-length grey hair, and is 5ft 6ins tall. A picture of Karen was shared on the Police Scotland Edinburgh Facebook page, along with an appeal for information.
It said: “We are appealing for the public’s help to trace 66-year-old Karen Ross, who has been reported missing from Edinburgh. Karen was last seen around 9.30am on Saturday, 31 August, 2024 in the Balcarres Street area.
“She is described as being around 5ft 6in tall, of medium build, with shoulder-length grey hair, and wears glasses. When last seen, Karen was wearing a navy blue shirt, black trousers and black trainers.
“Concerns are growing and we are appealing to anyone who may have seen Karen to come forward. Anyone with information on where Karen may be is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference 2964 of August 31.”
