An 11-year-old schoolgirl has vanished after going to meet her friends in Glasgow prompting a frantic appeal by police officers.

Concerned family members have not seen Lily Clark since 2.15pm on Saturday, August 31, when she planned to take the bus into Glasgow city centre to meet her friends.

Police have described her diappearance is “out of character” and have asked those with information to contact them as a “matter of urgency”.

She is described a white female, 5F 01” tall, slim build with long blonde hair. She was wearing Grey Nike Zipper, Grey Leggings, Black All Saints T-shirt wearing Tan and White Nike trainers.

Inspector Dougall at Maryhill Police Office said: “It’s out of character for Lily not to be in touch with family and friends. We just want to know she is safe and well.

“Her family are very worried, if anybody has seen Lily or has information or knowledge as to her whereabouts, please contact Police as a matter of urgency”.
