Good Morning Britain presenter unrecognisable in throwback school picture

Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid has shared a sweet image of herself in her school years.

The 53-year-old ITV newsreader is heading back to the studio after a summer break, which saw the likes of Adil Ray, Kate Garraway and Charlotte Hawkins stepping in.

Ahead of her 6am return, Susanna has revealed an adorable image of her younger self, sat on the steps ready to go to school.

She had a bright yellow lunchbox on one side, and a stuffed toy held tightly on the other.

The picture appears to have been snapped outside her childhood home, with Susanna grinning and looking smart with her hair combed back and wearing a school jumper over her shirt.

Reminiscing on her time at school, she said: ‘I went to three schools – and enjoyed those days.

‘I wasn’t great at sport but I’d sometimes throw myself into competitions even though I wasn’t the same standard as the girls who were good.

‘I watched the Australian breakdancer at the Olympics with an air of awkward recognition.’

Susanna’s return to screens comes after spending the holiday with her sons in Ibiza.

She said: ‘I’ve been going for ten years and it was amazing to really enjoy it with my boys now they are old enough to go clubbing.

‘We go to the day clubs together and then I go back to the hotel and they go to the nightclubs!’

Despite a few weeks off, she’s not managed to shake her 3.40am wake up time, adding: ‘My body clock is so attuned to the early starts that I naturally wake at 3.40am even during the summer.

‘I am able to go back to sleep very easily, but I also find it very easy to get up for work.’

Susanna’s return comes after she shocked viewers with her glam new look, after lightening her dark brown hair with face-framing blonde highlights, debuting the ‘radiant’ results on the ITV programme in June.
