Congratulations are in order for Lorraine Kelly and her family, as her daughter Rosie Smith has given birth to her first child.
Rosie, 29, is the only daughter of the ITV daytime star, 64, and her husband Steve Smith.
She announced that she and her fiancé, who is also called Steve, were expecting in April, with Lorraine saying at the time that she ‘cannot wait to be a granny’.
Lorraine has now shared her delight at the news, after Rosie confirmed she’d given birth and revealed the name of their daughter.
Taking to Instagram with a picture of the newborn’s hand wrapped around a finger, Rosie said: ‘Baby Billie Kelly Smith-White is here, 29-08-2024
‘It feels like she’s been here the whole time and we’re not quite sure what the point of anything was before.
‘I’d heard how amazing midwives are but they are genuinely walking angels – she’s been welcomed into the world with so much love already.’
Over on her Instagram page, Lorraine reshared the adorable picture and wrote: ‘I have been BURSTING to share this wonderful news with you!
‘Baby Billie is an angel and I’m so proud of @rosiekellysmith and @stevewhite94 who will be the best parents.
‘I’m delighted to be Granny Smith and can’t wait to go on adventures. #love#joy#happiness#family.’
Fans and friends alike rushed to share their congratulations, with Piers Morgan writing: ‘Many congrats to you all!’
Susanna Reid wrote: ‘Huge huge love to you all and especially to tiny precious Baby Billie.’
Lorraine previously said Rosie’s pregnancy announcement was ‘the most exciting thing to have ever happened in our family!’
She added earlier this year: ‘Cannot wait to be a granny and so proud of Rosie and her Steve. It’s the best news EVER!’
Rosie is incredibly close with her mum and dad, who welcomed her in 1994.
Speaking to Weekend magazine after Rosie moved out of the family home, Lorraine, who hosts podcast What if? with her daughter, said: ‘We talk about everything under the sun.
‘I’m her mum, though, I’d never say I was her best friend because she’s got her friends already.
