(Gray News) – A working dog at San Francisco International Airport has been voted the Transportation Security Administration’s Cutest Canine for 2024.

Barni has worked as a TSA passenger screening canine at the San Francisco International Airport with his handler, Michelle, since 2022.

Barni is a 5-year-old German shorthaired pointer trained to sniff out explosive materials and he sure looks adorable.

After two rounds of voting on TSA’s social media, Barni came out on top.

This annual contest was held in recognition of National Dog Day to acknowledge the important role TSA’s hardworking canines play in protecting the nation’s transportation systems.

Barni will be featured on the front cover of TSA’s 2025 Canine Calendar the agency will release in December.

TSA has more than 1,000 canine teams that are trained at its national Canine Training Center in San Antonio, Texas.

Just a reminder, TSA canines are working dogs and should only be touched by their handlers.
