The Mirror reports Crazy P has chosen not to disclose a cause of death at this time, asking for space to come to terms with the loss, remarking: “Danielle lived a life driven by love compassion community and music. She lived the biggest of lives. We will miss her with all our hearts X.”

The eclectic band Crazy P, created in 1995 by Chris Todd and Jim Baron while they were at the University of Nottingham, grew to include several other artists over the years, including Danielle as their vocalist in 2002. After joining forces with the Manchester-based label Paper Recordings, they have released a series of albums and singles, making their debut with ‘Digging Deeper’ in 1996, and developing a devoted following, particularly in Australia where they’ve toured multiple times.

Danielle had previously toured with Crazy P at festivals, including Bestival and The Big Chill. She once shared her enthusiasm for discovering new sounds with Le Visiteur, saying: “I love listening to new music. I really wish I had more time to really indulge in the seeking and searching.

“There’s so much great music constantly coming through but there’s also amazing old music that you can’t possibly hear. That’s the brilliance of it.”

After the heartbreaking announcement of the singer’s passing, tributes poured in on social media. A fan posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, saying: “I’m so so so sorry guys. Danielle was a complete ball of light and love .. a force to be reckoned with and one of the most beautiful humans I’ve ever known. Such a huge, mammoth loss. Sending love to you both and thoughts are with her family.”

Another expressed their grief: “I loved that woman so much. She was a such a special person, on and off the stage, but especially off it. Funny, kind, generous, even a little shy, but just an incredible human being. I’m so devastated by this. Much love to you all, this is just the worst news.”
