BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) – The West Virginia Department of Tourism has released its fall foliage map offering a preview of the vibrant, autumn colors expected this season.

However, the ongoing drought may affect the timing and intensity of the foliage, officials said. Lower moisture levels can lead to earlier leaf drop and muted colors.

Experts suggest checking the map frequently for updates, as conditions could change the expected peak times.

As you travel through the state’s mountains, be sure to share your scenic foliage photos on social media using #AlmostHeaven and tag the location of your shot. Photos from those enjoying the foliage will be added to the Live Leaf Map, which can be found HERE, throughout the season.
