MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Myrtle Beach police are investigating an overnight shooting.

Officers were called just after midnight on Monday to the 1200 block of Third Avenue South for the shooting.

“I was down by the store when I heard it. I was a little nervous walking back from the store just a little bit,” said Shelley.

Shelley, who did not want to provide her last name, says she has lived in the Myrtle Beach area for a long time and the shooting does concern her.

“When people put stress on people that is unnecessary sometimes or you just don’t know what’s going on in somebody’s life, you know things happen,” said Shelley.

The area at the shooting investigation’s center has mostly businesses closed due to the Labor Day holiday.

“While the scene has been secured, an increased police presence will be in the area as officers continue to investigate the incident,” the agency stated in a Facebook post.

No one was hurt in the shooting.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call 843-918-1382.
