Yamas Greek Kitchen + Bar has been closed since Aug. 30, when an electrical fire broke out outside the restaurant.

AUSTIN, Texas — A popular West Austin restaurant is set to reopen Monday night after a fire on Friday.

Yamas Greek Kitchen + Bar, located in the Highland Park West neighborhood of West Austin, made a Facebook post Friday night saying it had “experienced a small outdoor electrical fire.”

As a result, the spot remained closed through the weekend, but it plans to welcome customers again Monday night.

Yamas said no one was injured during the fire and the building itself was not severely damaged.

More about Yamas

Last summer, Chris and Roxie Nikolakos brought a niche dining experience to the Austin area by introducing a combination of modern and historic Greek meal options at their restaurant.

Yamas offers a wide variety of brunch and dinner options, with everything from the Skopelitiki Cheese Pie – filled with phyllo dough, honey, sesame and thyme – to the Keftedakia, or Greek meatballs, served with feta cheese, herbs and tomato sauce.

The restaurant opens at 4 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. Saturdays and Sundays, with reservations available online
