(CNN) – Sean Higgins, the New Jersey man suspected of driving drunk when his vehicle hit and killed NHL star Johnny Gaudreau and his brother, worked at an addiction treatment provider – Gaudenzia.

Higgins has been placed on leave from the treatment facility.

He is also an active member of New Jersey’s National Guard.

A Facebook post shows he was previously deployed to Kosovo in 2019 and promoted to Major during his time there.

Higgins is currently being held without bond at a correctional facility in Salem County, in the western part of the state.

Investigators say Higgins’ car hit the Gaudreau brothers as they were riding their bicycles Thursday night.

They were set to serve as groomsmen at their sister’s wedding the next day in Philadelphia.
