A teenager who was stabbed to death in his own last home has been pictured for the first time.

Jahziah Coke, 13, died at the scene on Lovett Avenue, Oldbury, on Thursday with two teenagers being charged with murder.

His mum paid tribute to him in a statement today, saying he was ‘a very polite, kind and family-orientated young man.

‘He was very loving and always smiling. His smile would light up the room. He was very kind-hearted.’

Two teenagers who were arrested on Sunday and have been charged with Jahziah’s murder.

They cannot be named for legal reasons.

Mum of boy, 13, stabbed to death pays tribute to 'kind hearted' son

A spokesperson for St James’ Church, where Jahziah went to a youth club, said: ‘We are truly saddened by this tragic event and are here for the family and the local community if they need us.’

A man in his 40s who was also held yesterday was charged with assisting an offender.

All three are being held in police custody before appearing at Birmingham magistrates today.

Detectives said they are not currently looking for anyone else as part of the investigation but are still appealing for anyone with dashcam, doorbell, CCTV or mobile phone footage that might help to come forward.

A local mum whose son is in the same year at school as the victim said she ‘felt sick’ after hearing about the incident.

Another woman who lives nearby added: ‘I felt sick. I have 2 boys and it truly terrifies me.’

Detective Superintendent Shaun Edwards, from the force’s Homicide Team, said: ‘It’s absolutely tragic a young life has been lost.

‘We have specialist officers who will be supporting the family of the boy.’
