ATHENS, W.Va. – After one of the best seasons in program history in 2022, the Concord Mountain Lions came back down to earth in 2023 after only winning one game. The team now has to build from the ground up again in 2024 to try to get to where it was not that long ago.

Brian Ferguson comes into year two as the head coach for the Mountain Lions, but there were a multitude of other changes across the coaching staff. One of those is new defensive coordinator David Blake, who looks to resurrect a team that allowed over 40 points a game last year.

However, on offense, the team will have to replace record-breaking QB Jack Mangel, as well as All-American WR Kris Copeland. Blayne Ferguson will be the one to fill Mangel’s shoes, and while the team still looks for answers at wideout, but looks to rely on RB TJ Finney to carry a lot more of the load this year.
