(CNN) – Australian break dancer Rachael Gunn, known as Raygun, is apologizing to the breaking community for the backlash her Paris Olympic performance brought to it.
Breakdancing made its Olympic debut at the 2024 Paris Games.
Raygun’s unique moves included a kangaroo hop, a backward roll and various contortions with her body while lying or crawling on the floor.
She did not register any points during her breaking battles.
Backlash to her viral performance included singer Adele questioning whether the whole thing was a joke and a mocking reenactment on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.”
In an interview Wednesday, Raygun said she’s very sorry for the breakdancing backlash she caused.
She said her breaking style is a different approach to the sport, and she knew people weren’t going to understand her style.
Breakdancing will not be included in the Olympics in Los Angeles in 2028.
