A 47-year-old man was shot dead inside a Brooklyn subway station, police said Thursday.
Freddie Weston was shot in the head on the mezzanine level inside the Rockaway Ave. station for the C line in Brownsville just before 11:15 p.m. Wednesday, cops said.
Weston, who lived about a mile away, was rushed by medics to Brookdale Hospital but could not be saved.
A subway clerk heard gunfire and called 911, said police. Investigators early Thursday were looking through surveillance video for clues.
Through Sunday, there had been seven murders in the city subway system, up from five for the same time period last year.
