FAYETTEVILLE, W.Va. – A 66-year-old man from Fayetteville will be sentenced in January 2025 after he pleaded guilty to drug crimes, the Department of Justice said.

According to the DOJ, Jeff Allen Adkins pleaded guilty on September 4 to possession with intent to distribute quantities of methamphetamine and fentanyl. After a search of a vehicle Adkins was in back in May 2022, officers in Oak Hill found around 116 grams of fentanyl and 112 grams of methamphetamine, the DOJ said.

Adkins admitted, the DOJ said, that he possessed the controlled substances and intended to distribute them.

Adkins faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison, at least three years of supervised release, and a one million dollar fine. The sentencing is scheduled to take place on January 13, 2025.
