BLUEFIELD, W.Va. – The West Virginia State Police announced they will post a sobriety checkpoint on US Route 219 in the Fairlea area of Greenbrier County.

The checkpoint will take place on Thursday, September 12 between 6pm and midnight on US Route 219 in the Fairlea are of Greenbrier County.

The checkpoint is to find and deter impaired drivers, as well as educate people about the dangers of driving an automobile while impaired by alcohol and/or drugs.

The State Police is asking people to help stop impaired drivers and report them to law enforcement before incidents happen.
