BLUEFIELD, W.Va. – A boil water advisory has been issued for the Big Four Water System in McDowell County.

The announcement was made on September 5 by the McDowell County Public Service District in a Facebook post on the McDowell County 911 & Office of Emergency Services page.

The boil water advisory will last 7 days, and was issued because of a loss of chlorine in the system, according to the announcement. Work is being done to fix the problem, and people who are on the Big Four Water System should not drink the water or use for preparing food without first boiling it for 1 minute.
