Kate Middleton has given royal watchers a rare treat as she’s released a new personal message related to her work responsibilities. The Princess of Wales has taken a break from the spotlight and public duties as she continues to recover from her cancer diagnosis.
Kate has only made a few appearances this year following her major abdominal surgery in January, which she announced in March. She has been receiving preventative chemotherapy and it is still uncertain when she will resume her regular royal duties – though was spotted at Crathie Kirk on the Balmoral estate last month as she joined the royals for their annual summer break, and also made an appearance at Trooping the Colour in June and then Wimbledon in July.
However, today, Kate did post a statement on her and Prince William’s official X page about an organisation that is dear to her heart – and how she is excited to collaborate with them in the future.
In her capacity as joint president of the Scout Association, she disclosed that she is “looking forward” to working with the UK’s new chief scout, Dwayne Fields. She stated: “Delighted to welcome @DwayneFields as the new UK chief scout.”
“The Scouts is such an incredible organisation, teaching #SkillsForLife and making a huge difference to young people across the country. Looking forward to working with you! C” Signing off with her trademark ‘C’, Kate indicated to followers it was her behind the message.
Kate has served as joint president of the Scouts Association for many years alongside the Duke of Kent, and is the first woman to ever hold the position.
On Thursday, Prince William made his first public appearance since his surprise reunion with brother Harry, and he caused a stir by bringing back his beard.
There was much debate surrounding the Prince of Wales’ facial hair before he shaved it off last month, and royal watchers were delighted to see it making a return.
William was back to work for the first time since his summer break, touring a new homelessness exhibition featuring art by former rough sleepers.
