MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (WXIX) – A second suspect is now in custody in connection with the slaying of a missing woman whose remains were found in a Middletown trash can over the summer, jail officials confirm.

Brandon Davis, 45, turned himself in for complicity to aggravated murder and was booked into the Middletown City Jail around 11 p.m. Thursday.

He is scheduled to make his first appearance in Middletown Municipal Court at 1:30 p.m. Friday, jail officials say.

Middletown police issued a warrant for his arrest earlier this week as the investigation continues into the death of 35-year-old Asiah Slone.

She was shot twice in the head on or about June 6-9, police and court records show.

Slone was reported missing in June, and her remains were found on July 1 in a trash can on Centennial Street near Yankee Road.

Perry Hart, 59, was indicted late last month on two counts each of aggravated murder and having weapons under disability and single counts of murder and kidnapping.

His bond was set at $1.5 million during his arraignment Wednesday.

Hart told Middletown police in an interview in July that another person first shot Slone in the head, gave him the gun, told him to finish her off, Hart dragged her down some stairs while she was moaning and then fired the second shot into her head.

Middletown police first arrested Hart in July, a week after Slone’s remains were found.

They took him into custody on two gun charges after spotting him walking in the same area with the weapons in his backpack.

He is prohibited from having weapons due to previous felony arrests, according to his indictment.

He was arrested again in August and charged with her slaying.
