Carluke Camera Club held its first meeting of the new 2024-2025 season on the evening of Friday, August 30.

There was a good turn-out and members were re-registered while regaled with tea, coffee, cake and biscuits.

Libby Smith welcomed all members, existing and new, and first of all told with regret that Ed Willis had sadly made the difficult decision to step down from his position as club secretary, while praising him for his hard work and devoted service over many years.

She then went on to outline details of the club’s syllabus for the next few weeks – presentations, competitions and fun and social events.

Altogether a good evening with fine chat and catching up with friends after what has not been the best summer of weather from the point of view of outdoor photography.

Friday, September 6 is a Members’ Digital Night and all members are encouraged to submit up to 25 digital images of their choice – be they traditional pictures such as landscapes or portraits – or ones which reflect their other hobbies and pastimes.

Should be an interesting meeting!
