From Sept. 8 until Sept. 19, HCSO says it will ramp up patrols in the areas of U.S. 290 between Nutty Brown Road and Sawyer Ranch Road.

AUSTIN, Texas — The Hays County Sheriff’s Office is ramping up its enforcement of speeding violations.

Starting Sept. 8, deputies with HCSO and Precinct 4 Constable’s Office are ramping up traffic enforcement on U.S. 290. Deputies are looking to crack down on excessive speeding and stop light violations in an effort to make the roads safer.

HCSO says the aim of the operation is not only to enforce hazardous driving violations, but also to increase voluntary compliance with traffic laws and to reduce crashes and and other traffic-related incidents.

Drivers traveling on U.S. 290 between Nutty Brown Road and Sawyer Ranch Road should be aware of increased patrols and enforcement.
