Queen legend Sir Brian May shocked fans when he revealed he had suffered a ‘scary’ stroke last month but he appears to be on the mend.

Despite reports stating he would need time at home after being rushed to hospital, the 77-year-old guitarist was spotted watching the cricket.

He and his wife Antia Dobson, 75, sat overlooking the match at the Kia Oval, looking cheerful and in good health.

Last week, Sir Brian revealed he had suffered a minor stroke and lost control of his left arm, resulting in a rush to hospital in August.

This new public appearance comes as a surprise as fans had anticipated he would be out of the spotlight for a while after this ‘health hiccup’.

Taking to social media, the We Will Rock You icon wrote: ‘And …. breathe !! Enjoying a day relaxing and watching other people put the work in! Great job guys!!’

He didn’t address his health scare and added: ‘I’ve loved the Oval cricket ground ever since I was a kid squatting on a cushion the grass verge. What a fabulous day out !!!’

Fans were relieved to see him but his comments were quickly flooded with people warning him that he had not tagged the official Kia Oval Instagram.

Instead, the 80s rocker had accidentally tagged the wrong account — leading to an underwear model rather than the cricket grounds.

‘Brian I’m not sure about the account you tagged there…’ commented Maisy Phylactou.

‘Bri, change that tag before the mrs sees 😭,’ joked Christian Shea as Monique Brognon added: ‘If I may say so, I don’t think the @ in your post is the right link…’

Tag blunder aside, fans were delighted to see Sir Brian out and about again, clearly feeling back on form after the turn.

‘So happy you are feeling well enough to be out and about,’ wrote Frank Ten while Yvonne Wakefield added: ‘Love seeing you two so intent on game-play! Looking quite dashing and healthy — you wear R&R quite well Bri!’

Dave Tudor said: ‘Lovely to see. Hope you’re feeling better, Bri.’

”It’s great to see you having a relaxing time with lovely Anita!💖 And so glad this seemed to be good rehabilitation for you🥰,’ shared Shoko.

First news of Sir Brian’s stroke came in a post from the We Are The Champions musician as he confirmed he could play guitar one more.

Taking to social media, he wrote: ‘I hope you’re all well out there. I’m here to bring you first of all some good news.

‘I think good news is that I can play guitar after the events of the last few days and I say this because it was in some doubt because that little health hiccup that I mentioned happened about a week ago and what they called it was a minor stroke and all of a sudden – out of the blue – I didn’t have any control over this arm so was a little scary.’

The cricket enthusiasts looked deep in conversation as they watched the match together, having been married for 24 years.

This isn’t the first scare the Queen icon has faced as he suffered a heart attack in 2020 and months later revealed the drugs he took for it caused a ‘stomach explosion’ that ‘nearly killed’ him.

When he was seen at the hospital, the doctors warned that he would need to either have a triple heart bypass or stents put in.

‘I thank them from the bottom of my heart,’ Sir Brian added. ‘I think I’m in good shape for some time to come.

‘I’m good, I’m here, and I’m ready to rock.’
