A 31-year-old woman was rushed to hospital after being hit by a van on a busy Edinburgh road.

Emergency services raced to The Wisp on Saturday afternoon, September 7, following reports of a crash involving a van and a female pedestrian, reports Edinburgh Live.

Images from the scene show part of the road taped off by police while investigations were carried out. The woman was rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where her condition is unknown.

Police are continuing to carry out inquiries into the crash after the road was closed for several hours.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.10pm on Saturday, 7 September, 2024 we were called to a report of a collision involving a van and a pedestrian on The Wisp, Edinburgh.

“Emergency services attended the 31-year-old female pedestrian was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment. Enquiries are ongoing.”
