A talented Coltness High footballer has made into the Lanarkshire Schools under-18 squad.

Goalkeeper Connor Sneddon made the cut after impressing during the trials.

Speaking after his selection was confirmed, Connor said: “It’s a great achievement getting into the team but the hard work starts now!”

Connor currently plays for Knightswood 2008 FC so is therefore still eligible to play under-16 football. He has previously represented the Glasgow West Region.

He is currently involved in “In Motion” USA Scholarship programme with the potential when he leaves school to go to the United States to undertake higher education with a soccer scholarship.

Connor says his goalkeeping heroes are former Rangers and Scotland star Andy Goram and current Bayern Munich and Germany number one Manuel Neuer.

Daniel McRorie, Coltness High’s school football co-ordinator said: “We are delighted for Connor and very proud of him. He’s a great lad and contiously puts his all into his goalkeeping. He thoroughly deserves this opportunity.”
