In a surprise revelation that left her Married at First Sight UK co-stars astounded, bride-to-be Richelle disclosed her age during the much-anticipated season opener on E4.
The wild reality hit, which sees experts Mel Schilling, Paul C Brunson, and Charlene Douglas welcome a brand new troop of hopeful romantics into the social experiment, kicked off its 2024 series with the traditional hen and stag festivities.
It was during these vibrant gatherings that the brides came together, and jaws dropped as the glamorous Richelle divulged that she is 48 years old and often gets asked for her ID when buying age-restricted goods.
Having carved out a stellar career in business, Richelle joined the MAFS UK brigade in pursuit of someone to share successes and life with. This top-tier head of alternative investments aimed for a trifecta in her match: fit, funny, and financially independent, a tall order she hopes the experts can fulfil.
Born in Guyana and relocating to the UK at two, Richelle now raises her 20 year old daughter while mastering the business world. Despite her myriad accomplishments, Richelle admits feeling incomplete sans a significant other, reports the Mirror.
With excitement prior to the show’s premiere, she expressed her desire for a partner, hinting at the sentiment behind her decision to join the show: “It’d be nice to, when I look back at my life when I’m older, say I’ve had a once in a lifetime experience.”
The relationship gurus have dubbed the forthcoming series as “the most thrilling yet,” packed with “drama, passion and steamy moments.”
At the grand premiere of MAFS UK 2024 on Tuesday, Paul enthused: “The cast is incredible. They’ve been on a journey and I believe this is the strongest and it could be the most exciting series yet.”
“A lot of people don’t realise myself, Mel and Charlene debate but most importantly we’re humbled to given the opportunity to be able to give advice to our contributors.”
Sex expert Charlene chimed in: “Married at First Sight means a lot to us. It’s one of E4’s biggest shows and we’re so proud of the brides and the grooms.”
