A high school in Motherwell welcomed back a former pupil who shared her media skills knowledge as current students took part in a workshop that was filmed.

The L.A.B Scotland visited Dalziel High to run a workshop with the school’s S3 media class.

The BBC Scotland outreach project is designed to develop digital media literacy, and the L.A.B team work with a diverse range of community groups as well as schools, helping them to create their own content.

The aim is to bring students’ ideas to life across different media disciplines, using different skillsets such as video-making, photography and podcasts.

Former pupil, Kara Gillespie, 18, a deaf content creator and presenter with BBC’s The Social, was back in school to promote the workshop.

Content produced on the day will be released in the coming weeks and will be shared on all BBC social media platforms.
