Comfort is often a top consideration for both short and long-haul flights, particularly for those who are taller and may find limited leg space uncomfortable.
The amount of legroom can vary significantly depending on the airline chosen, and as we move into shoulder season, many individuals are likely planning for their upcoming Christmas holidays.
Naturally, starting a holiday comfortably can influence which airline travellers select, especially if they want to avoid paying additional fees for extra leg space.
A survey by consumer organisation Which? has evaluated 12 UK-based short-haul carriers to find out which provides the most legroom with a standard ticket purchase, reports the Express. The survey focuses on “seat pitch” – the distance between your seat and the one in front.
Aer Lingus, Ireland’s national carrier, took the lead with a generous 31 to 32 inches of legroom.
British Airways (BA) came in a close second, offering passengers between 29 to 31 inches of space to stretch their legs.
At the bottom of the ranking is Wizz Air, providing a mere 28 inches of leg space for its customers.
