Pamela Nash, MP for Motherwell, Wishaw and Carluke, has praised members of the Carluke Primrose Orchestral Flute band after attending its 42nd annual concert.
The event, held at Carluke Leisure Centre, showcased a number of arrangements from the talented group of flautists.
Miss Nash said: “It was an absolute pleasure to attend the 42nd annual concert of the award-winning Carluke Primrose Orchestral Flutes band with my colleagues Councillor Eileen Logan and Councillor Lynsey Hamilton.
“It is clear to see – and hear – why the band is held in such high regard, and it was a real joy to witness one of their performances first-hand.
“A particular favourite of mine on the night was the beautiful rendition of Mountain Thyme.
“And it was lovely to hear from some of the young members of the group who had only recently started learning their instruments, and for them to have been a part of the concert in front of 200 people is just remarkable.
“So, a huge well done to all of the musicians on the night, and in particular, to the conductor Emma Kennedy who led the musicians so ably.”
