A pensioner has been airlifted to hospital after she was struck by a car at an Edinburgh holiday park.
Residents in Port Seton reported seeing a huge police presence and several ambulances at Seton Sands Holiday Park in East Lothian on Sunday, September 22. The incident is believed to have taken place within the caravan park site.
Images taken from the scene show an air ambulance on Links Road. The road was closed off to cars and other vehicles. Several police vehicles and cops were also pictured on the road outside the park.
Police say an 86-year-old woman was struck by a car in the Seton Sands area of Port Seton and subsequently airlifted to hospital with “serious injuries”, reports Edinburgh Live.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.50am on Sunday, 22 September, 2024 we were made aware of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in the Seton Sands area of Port Seton.
“The pedestrian, an 86-year-old woman, was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh by air ambulance with serious injuries. Enquiries are ongoing.”
