Coldplay star Chris Martin turned up in disguise to sing one of his band’s own songs at a karaoke bar as patrons chatted among themselves.

The singer, 47, looked disheveled with his shirt tail hanging out and wearing thick spectacles and a ginger wig.

He did eventually elicit some cheers from those enjoying a drink at Dino’s Lounge in Las Vegas after an almost note perfect version of the song.

Martin, best known for Coldplay hits such as Yellow, Clocks and Living La Vida, was in the famous gambling Mecca for an iHeartRadio festival appearance.

In addition to taking the stage at T-Mobile Arena, the singer also made the additional appearance at the bar to sing All My Love.

Having played the festival, he turned up to have a go at his own group’s Moon Music album track while holding a balloon.

It gave the small audience a sneak peak of what to expect from the chart toppers’ forthcoming album.

Coldplay also gave a preview of the song at a show in Athens, Greece earlier this summer.

At the iHeartRadio Music Festival itself, Martin delivered stripped-down renditions of a handful of Coldplay hits including Yellow, A Sky Full of Stars, Viva la Vida, Hymn for the Weekend and the Chainsmokers’ Something Just Like This as well as performing latest single We Pray alongside guest Elyanna.

Moon Music is released on October 4.

The following day, Coldplay will guest on US TV show Saturday Night Live.

The band will embark on a world tour in support of their new album including UK dates in London and Hull.

Coldplay formed in 2007 and consist of Martin on vocals alongside lead guitarist Johnny Buckland, Scottish bassist Guy Berryman and drummer William Champion.

Martin said: “I’m so lucky that I just get to focus on the things I’m good at and the things I’m not good at I leave to someone else.

“We tour very slowly now. It seems that we’ve been on tour for a long time and that is true in terms of years but in terms of shows it’s been about 180.

“We’ll enjoy it more if we go a bit slower and stay in cities a bit longer.”
