Heartbroken owners of a Dobermann puppy are pleading with the community to help find her after she went missing from Dumbarton on Friday night.
A huge search has been launched for the nine-month-old puppy after she bolted from her owners’ car at the Milton Inn at around midnight.
Kirsty Reid and Robbie Bruce, of Carnoustie, travelled to the town with their two-year-old son on Friday to pick up a new car and were due to stay until Sunday.
But the distraught couple say they are not leaving until they find her and are urging residents to check sheds and report any sightings to them.
Kirsty said: “We parked up at the Milton Inn at about midnight and as we were getting out the car she bolted.
“There have been sightings of her and people are saying they have seen her running across the A82 dual carriageway.g
“She is quite scared of people so we are asking people not to shout, chase or try to catch her if they see her.
“Our dog is in danger of running onto a very busy road. There is also a railway and an underpass leading to water.
“If you want to help us report sightings with a photo or video and ‘what 3 words’ location’.”
“I am not leaving until I have found her. She is our baby and will be absolutely terrified.
“We’ve been out searching all up the back and down the cycling path. Robbie has left clothes out so she can catch his scent.
“We’ve been in touch with everyone we can think of. A man who has a drone got in touch and he had it up for three miles in each direction.
“We just don’t know what else to do. I am a total mess.”
Kirsty told how the couple always wanted a Dobermann and imported her from a breeder in Syria in April.
She added: “She is amazing. She is so loyal. Robbie is her main person and he is so upset. He’s been out all over trying to find her.
“We need our girl home.”
Kirsty thanked the local community for helping with the search to find the missing puppy, which is wearing a silver chain, with posts shared across local groups on Facebook over the weekend and residents joining in the search.
Anyone who spots the Dobermann puppy should call Kirsty on 07760358372 or Robbie on 07501332040 and provide details of the exact location, time and direction of travel.
They are asking members of the public not to shout, chase or try to catch her. If possible, take a photograph and share location using ‘what 3 words’.
