New College Lanarkshire will be hosting Lorraine Kelly CBE for a special ‘Evening with…’ event next month, with the last few tickets now available to the public.
The much-loved broadcaster will be will be sharing insights into her remarkable life, career, and charity work, alongside musical performances from the college’s awards winning Performing Arts department in the one-off event in Coatbridge.
Lorraine will also be made a fellow of New College Lanarkshire, for her work in the media and for charity. Earlier this year she was awarded a BAFTA Special Award for her outstanding contribution to television.
This unique occasion, scheduled for Thursday, October 3, is a rare opportunity to hear Lorraine speak in person. Tickets are £10 and all proceeds from the event will go to the NCL Foundation, which helps break down barriers to education for students, including providing free breakfasts to over 3,500 students each month.
A spokesperson for the College said: It’s a great honour to have Lorraine with us.”
They went on: “It’s a sign of her generosity that’s she’s found time in her busy schedule to come to the College and it’s going to be a fantastic evening. Of course, she is college educated and from Lanarkshire so she understands just how important education is here.”
