“Weird Al” Yankovic announced a 2025 tour that will include the comedian and musician’s first-ever show at Madison Square Garden.
The “Bigger & Weirder” tour promises a “legendary full-production multimedia comedy rock show” featuring an expanded backing band, Yankovic “playing his iconic hits as well as some never-performed-live-before fan favorites” and plenty of costume changes.
Yankovic’s previous tour, which occurred in 2022, focused on smaller venues, stripped-down production and playing deep cuts from his extensive catalog.
“This is kind of a ‘best of both worlds’ tour,” Yankovic said in a press release. “We’ll be doing all the big crowd-pleasing parodies as well as some deep cuts for the hardcore fans — but with twice as many players on stage, everything is going to sound twice as good!”
The 65-date tour starts with five nights in Las Vegas at The Venetian Theatre starting June 13, 2025 before winding around the country. The July 12 stop at Madison Square Garden will mark the first time he’s performed at the arena. He’s previously performed in the city at Forest Hills Stadium, Carnegie Hall, The Apollo, Radio City Music Hall, The Beacon and other venues.
Puddles Pity Party, a 7-foot tall clown who performs pop hits with an operatic singing voice, will serve as the opening act on the tour.
Tickets will be available for presale starting Tuesday at 10 a.m. local time with code SNORKEL. Public ticket sales begin Friday.
Yankovic has not released an album or new parody songs in a decade, instead focusing on other projects. He has starred in the show “Comedy Bang Bang” and his movie “Weird: The Al Yankovic Story,” a mock biopic starring Daniel Radcliffe, won the 2024 Creative Arts Emmy for Best TV Movie.
