A teenage girl was sexually assaulted in Coatbridge – and police are appealing for the public’s help to trace the attacker.
The incident took place in a wooded area behind Miller Street at around 8pm on Friday, September 20.
The male suspect, who was not known to the victim, is described as approximately 6ft tall and was wearing red Adidas Gazelles trainers at the time.
Extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
Detective Sergeant Alan Gardner said: “This was an extremely traumatic ordeal for the victim and it is vital that we identify and trace the man responsible.
“This happened close to a relatively busy area and we are asking anyone who saw a man matching this above description, or anything at all suspicious, to please get in touch.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number of Friday, September 20.
