A fantastic day of local crafters, food, live music, workshops and fun activities for all ages was held on Saturday at the Annan Harbour on Port Street.

One of the highlights of the popular Annan Harbour Festival was a return visit of the magnificent tall ship La Malouine. Also popular were cooking demonstrations.

There were live performances from Annan Town Band, The Solway Pipers and Paragon Music, with children getting to enjoy a bouncy castle with Potts amusements, face painting with DG Funkyfaces, and even a chance to build their own bat box – followed up with an evening bat walk to learn about local wildlife.

A spokesperson for organisers, Annan Harbour Action Group, said: “We want to offer a massive thank you to everyone who joined us at the festival and to all our incredible performers, traders, crafters, and those who supported by purchasing from local businesses.

“We hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did – filled with fun, music, creativity, and a fantastic sense of community. Your support means everything, and we truly appreciate every one of you.”

Weather permitting, there was also the opportunity to try rowing with the Annan Harbour Rowing Club or have an exciting power boat ride.

The Annan Harbour Action Group’s Coffee Shack did roaring trade serving delicious food made with local meat from Hallsford Farm Produce and fresh rolls from Warwick Bridge Corn Mill.

And the local theme continued with the many marketplace stalls and the farmers and producers market, which helped pull in the crowds who also enjoyed finding out more about RSPB Dumfries and Galloway, DG Climate Hub, South of Scotland Wildlife, Species on the Edge, River Annan District Salmon Fishery Board, the fire brigade, HM Coastguard Annan, Rotary Club of Annan and District, and the D&G Fish Sales.

It was followed on the Sunday with the new ImMerse Festival – a green festival celebrating the local nature and environment at the harbour.
