A 12-year-old was caught in possession of an extendable baton following reports of youth violence in East Kilbride.
Plain clothed officers from the priority policing team responded to reports of youth disorder and violence involving weapons in the Murray Square, in broad daylight, at around 5pm on Friday, September 20.
Police say a youth, aged 12, was searched and an offensive weapon, namely an extendable baton, was retrieved from their pocket.
A referral will be made to the EEI (Early and Effective Intervention) coordinator in relation to this youth.
