Channel 4 has provided fans with a tantalising update regarding one of its beloved daytime reality hits, A New Life in the Sun, which follows UK residents as they chase their entrepreneurial aspirations in sunnier climates.
Having captured audiences since its 2016 debut, the channel has just confirmed that the series will see a tenth instalment and is now recruiting new faces.
Taking to X, previously known as Twitter, Channel 4 posted: “Are you living in the UK and want to start a business in the sun or already living abroad with a business up and running? We’re looking for participants for a new series of A New Life in the Sun.”
Voiced by Beverly Rudd, A New Life in the Sun showcases British go-getters as they embark on a range of ventures like chic B&Bs and cocktail tutorials in picturesque locales such as Spain, Portugal, Italy, and France. The series explores the realities of setting up shop abroad and questions if life overseas truly is idyllic, The Sun reported.
The show’s tenth series is still in the preliminary phase, with filming commencement pending. More information about the upcoming series, produced by True North, can be found on Channel 4’s website, noting: “We are looking for British people who are planning to set up new businesses in Europe. We would also like to speak to expats who may already be running businesses but are now looking to diversify and try something different,” reports the Mirror.
The first nine series are now available to stream on the official Channel 4 website. There’s also a spin-off of the series called A New Life in the Sun: Where are They Now? which revisits expats who took on the challenge of a new life in the sun.
There are six series of the show which chronicles both the success stories and failures of the Brits who attempted to start a new life and business abroad.
