The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) has today unveiled over 150,000 new fixed-price prefix personalised registration numbers. These registrations are fresh to the market, having never been assigned to a vehicle or offered for sale before.
This sought-after format features a letter from A-H, followed by 25 or 26, a space and then three more letters. For instance, A25 CAR.
These registration numbers are expected to be a hit with motorists, with fixed prices starting from just £250, inclusive of VAT and assignment fee.
Some examples of the new prefix registrations available include A25 CYA, B25 TOM, C26 DAN, D25 OMG, E26 CAT, F25 CBR, F26 ORD, G25 GEM and H25 NRY.
From Tuesday, September 24, these prefix style registration numbers can be viewed here before they become available for purchase from 10am on Tuesday, October 1.

“This exciting upcoming release is a great opportunity to get your perfect registration in the hugely desirable prefix style for a fixed price.
“The vast majority of the 150,000 new numbers are priced at £250 each. There’s a huge selection to choose from and with Christmas just around the corner, you could snap up a bargain for you or your loved ones.”
Research indicates that nearly a quarter of drivers fail to grasp the meaning behind the letters and numbers on their car registration plates, reports Birmingham Live. A worrying 22 percent of drivers are clueless about what their vehicle’s registration plate signifies, and this lack of knowledge increases to 27 percent amongst those aged over 65.
