Eamonn Holmes has seemingly discovered new romance after his surprising split from his wife, Ruth Langsford. The pair, known for their joint presenting stint on This Morning, announced their separation in May.
Eamonn, 64, didn’t wait long to find love once more and has been linked to Katie Alexander, 42. They appear to be getting quite close, having recently enjoyed a romantic Mediterranean cruise.
The GB News anchorman is said to be investing deeply into this new chapter with Katie, and moving in together is reportedly on the cards. Sources claim that the duo are comfortably settling into the relationship, and Katie’s endearing nickname for Eamonn reveals her deep affection as she’s described as ‘completely smitten’.
“Katie is telling everyone that she’s totally smitten and in love. They’ve known each other for nine years, so this isn’t a fly-by-night relationship – she’s in it for the long haul. They’re now looking at places to move in together, as they want a lot more space,” confided an insider to Heat magazine.
An insider has revealed that the couple is contemplating a significant change of scenery by leaving London for Eamonn’s home city of Belfast, as Katie feels certain that he is her ‘soulmate’. She’s committed to ‘loving and caring’ for him amidst his ongoing health issues, reports the Mirror.
“Eamonn is her man, and she’s there to look after him,” the source disclosed.
Ruth, also 64 and a regular on Loose Women, is reportedly shocked by her ex’s new romance. A source expressed earlier this month: “She’s just trying to get on with life and be around good friends, she’s partying through the pain and is trying to get through it.
“Ruth is distracting herself and doing things that make her happy keeping busy and being around friends, family and work is the only way she can get through it.”
The news follows an incident where Ruth is said to have taken some form of retaliation against her estranged spouse Eamonn. After requesting to retrieve clothes for his upcoming cruise from their previous house, Ruth failed to mention that the £2,000 stairlift had been removed, complicating Eamonn’s access to the upper floors of his former £3.5 million Weybridge property.
At the time, Ruth was not present at the property, but an insider revealed to the Daily Mail: “Ruth has remained quiet and classy. Even when people bring up what Eamonn has been up to, she stays silent and just smiles. She thinks that is the best way.
“She has had a lot of support from her friends. But one thing she would see every day was the stairlift which Eamonn installed.”
The insider continued: “Ruth doesn’t need it. She’s super-fit and healthy but she knew Eamonn probably would struggle when he had to go the house to get some bits he needed for the holiday. The bedrooms are upstairs and he needed to get to them.
“It might seem petty but Ruth’s friends think it is absolutely hilarious as they think he has really taken her for a ride.”
