Dean Campbell is hoping lightning can strike twice and he can get another shot of cup glory against Premier League opposition on Tuesday night.
The former Aberdeen midfielder heads to Stamford Bridge with lowly Barrow to take on the might of Chelsea. The 23-year-old would love another dream ending like last year when he went to Aston Villa and scored the winner for Stevenage in the FA Cup.
Campbell said: “It is really exciting. I would love to pop up with another moment like that [Aston Villa goal]. We have to do what we can and if I get the chance to take a shot then I will definitely have confidence from the last time I played at a Premier League ground, at Aston Villa.
“It has definitely been one of the highlights of my career and one I will remember for my time in football and also after it when I can look back. It was a brilliant moment and I would like to create others.”
Campbell knows Chelsea might have bigger priorities but he could be up against the likes of Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo, who were bought for nine-figure fees.
The Scot admitted: “In midfield Chelsea have a couple of hundred-million-pound players. Whatever team Chelsea put out we know it will be full of world-class players. I am looking forward to testing myself against these players to see what it takes to get to that level.
“It will be good being up close to them and seeing what makes them so good. It will be a good experience but we aren’t just going there for a day out. We want to do ourselves proud and to put on a performance that the fans can be proud of.”
Barrow will certainly head to London full of confidence on the back of an unbeaten start that has them riding high at the top of League Two.
Campbell added: “The lads are in high spirits. We’ve had a fantastic start to the season with a new management team [boss Stephen Clemence] coming in. He has got us playing some good football.
“We are in a positive frame of mind and we are sitting top of the league after seven games. It has been a great start and the Chelsea game is a reward for that. We will go there with a lot of confidence and try to put on a show for ourselves.”
