Lorraine Kelly had a heart-to-heart with Jane McDonald on her show on Tuesday, discussing her life after the death of her beloved partner.

Jane, who tragically lost her partner of 15 years, Eddie Rothe, to lung cancer at the age of 67, was still reeling from the loss of her dear mother, Jean, in 2018.

The singer was on Lorraine to discuss her unique cruise experience, where she will take fans on a European tour from Amsterdam to Oslo.

During their conversation, Jane revealed some personal details, including that she now has a housemate as her home feels “too big” to live in alone.

Jane is sharing her home with her long-time friend Sue Ravey, whom she met during their singing days. Sue now works as Jane’s PA, reports the Mirror.

Jane expressed her contentment with the arrangement, saying: “It’s the best thing ever. She’s a great cook, she does my hair and make-up. She puts the bins out! You know, what more could I want? And she’s absolutely hilarious.”

Sue waved to Lorraine and Jane from backstage, prompting Lorraine to comment: “How lovely to have that, because despite your successes and all the amazing things you do, you don’t want to go back to an empty house.”

Jane concurred, lamenting to Lorraine: “No you don’t. Speaking of the house, it’s too big. We have this huge house that all we do is clean, and my nails can’t take it, Lorraine! So I think we’re going to downsize now, we’re looking forward to that.”

Sue, who shares the Celebrity Gogglebox sofa with Jane, disclosed to the Yorkshire Post: “I was invited by Jane – we both lived on our own. She’s got a rather large bungalow in ‘Shakey Wakey’ and I spend most of my time travelling between Wakefield and Doncaster.

“We do spend a lot of time together anyway and she invited me to move into a part of the house.”

Following her split with her partner, Sue moved in, noting: “We already know how to be together because we’ve worked together. We know so much about each other, we know each other’s ways. It’s a bit like living with family.”
