A Larkhall builder has been recognised for a quarter-century of dedicated service to a housing construction company.

George Laughlin was celebrated by colleagues as he marked the milestone of 25 years as a labourer with Persimmon West Scotland.

The 63-year-old is currently working at the company’s Annick Grange development in Irvine, and has previously worked on sites including the Sycamore Park and Boulevard developments in Glasgow and Woodilee Village in Kirkintilloch.

He said: “I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had at Persimmon and for the people I’ve worked with over the years – it’s been rewarding to be part of a team that builds homes and communities.

“The friendships I’ve made along the way have been the highlight of my career.”

Persimmon say George “has been a cornerstone of the company’s operations” since joining in 1999 and that his “hard work and loyalty have been instrumental in the success of countless projects across the west of Scotland.”

Recognising his long service, the company said: “George consistently contributes to high standards of quality and efficiency; his dedication and positive attitude have earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues.”

Construction director Michael McCarron said: “George’s work ethic and dedication have been truly outstanding. For 25 years, he has been a vital part of our team, always ready to go the extra mile to get the job done.

“We are deeply appreciative of his contributions and are honoured to celebrate this milestone with him.”
