Disgraced rap mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is sharing a cell with convicted cyber-swindler Sam Bankman-Fried in a Brooklyn jail.
The pair is reportedly being held in a dormitory style room at the Metropolitan Detention Center, where Combs is awaiting trial on racketeering and sex trafficking charges and Friedman is appealing fraud and conspiracy convictions that could put him away for 25 years.
Multiple outlets including NBC News confirmed the high-profile bedfellows are being detained in a roughly 20-person space designated for inmates who need special protection. The Federal Bureau of Prisons doesn’t comment on prisoner boarding.
The 1,600 person Metropolitan Detention Center has a reputation for undesirable living conditions. Two inmates were fatally stabbed there over the summer. Another man was gored by gang members 44 times in April but survived.
Combs, 54, is no stranger to violence.
His checkered past includes assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in a hotel in 2016, which came to light in May when security video documenting the incident was made public. He issued an apology on Instagram where he called his actions “inexcusable.”
Combs has pleaded not guilty to the seemingly unrelated criminal charges he now faces and is being held without bail.
Bankman-Fried, 32, was convicted for stealing $8 billion from customers, according to prosecutors. He filed a 102-page appeal on Sept. 13 revolving largely around evidentiary rulings.
