Two men have been charged with drugs offences after police officers allegedly recovered white powder and scales from vehicles in two separate incidents in South Lanarkshire at the weekend.
The first recovery allegedly involved a quantity of white powder, scales, green herbal material and a quantity of cash from a vehicle stopped in Rutherglen.
Plain clothes officers from the priority policing team stopped a vehicle just before 12.30am on Saturday, September 21, on Burnhill Street due to the manner in which it was being driven.
A 31-year-old male was charged with drugs offences and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal
In a separate incident the following morning around 11.10am in Greenhills Square, East Kilbride, officers from response policing attended reports of a male slumped over in a stationary vehicle.
It was searched and 81 snap bags containing white powder, 80 blue tablets, £2455 in cash, mobile phones, laptop and scales were allegedly seized.
A 47-year-old male was charged with drugs offences and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
