Linlithgow RFC Male Voice Choir’s next concert is set to benefit two important charities.
The Linlithgow choir are hosting the excellent Dursley Male Voice Choir, from Gloucestershire on Saturday October 5 in St Michael’s Parish Church, Linlithgow.
The funds from the concert will be divided between CHAS (Children’s Hospices Across Scotland) and Longfield Community Hospice, Stroud.
Both organisations depend so much on donations for the running of their charities.
Speaking on behalf of CHAS, fundraiser Zhenya Dove explained: “We are so grateful to Linlithgow Male Voice Choir for their extraordinary support in raising to date £18,420. For many years, their performances have entertained audiences and made an incredible difference to the lives of children and families across Scotland.
“Thanks to the choir’s dedication and the generosity of the community, we’re able to offer so much more than just care. We bring joy and an opportunity to create precious memories which will be treasured forever. Families can also enjoy a variety of activities at our hospices that they wouldn’t have access to elsewhere, from sensory play to special outings.
“None of this would be possible without the kindness of people and communities like Linlithgow. Your support ensures that no family has to face their problems alone, and for that, we cannot thank you enough.”
And Kirsty Murray, fundraising manager with Longfield Community Hospice added: “Longfield Community Hospice provides care and support to those with a life-limiting condition and also their Carers and loved ones. Our teams provide round the clock care through our hospice and in their own homes, surrounded by those they love.
Our Wellbeing Centre also provides counselling and bereavement support. We rely on the generosity of the local community for 85% of our income and without people like Dursley Male Voice Choir we couldn’t Provide the care and support to those who rely on Longfield during the most difficult time of their lives. It is fantastic that they have selected us for this very special concert and we are forever grateful for their help.”
Harry Lynch, Chairman of Linlithgow RFC Male Voice Choir agreed: “The support for the charities is essential for their future and we are delighted to be able to provide this financial help. I know that both choirs have been practicing hard to prepare for this concert, so please join us for what I’m certain will be a wonderful evening’s entertainment.” The compère for the concert will be Linlithgow’s Bruce Jamieson.
