Carol Vorderman has shone a light on the secrets behind her stunning figure – and they just may surprise you. Although she doesn’t ‘give a toss’ about what others think of her, the TV personality is eager to shed more weight to return to a ‘size 9’ (a small size 10).
She took a break from the gym after promoting her book ‘Now What? On a Mission To Fix Broken Britain’, but spoke to Saga magazine, about her typical health and fitness regime. Remarkably, this includes snacking on raw sprouts carried in her bag and doing a lot of ‘squats for the bum’.
“I wear a good bra and jeans that hold you up,” she explained. “I generally have one meal a day – late afternoon – and I do three 45-minute sessions in the gym a week, which I love.”
Eating just one meal a day is a type of intermittent fasting known as OMAD (One Meal A Day) according to Healthline. It’s a type of diet that typically creates a calorie deficit, which may help you shed pounds over time while potentially slashing your risk of heart disease.
The former Countdown presenter has previously insisted that she doesn’t count calories but is a big fan of ‘detoxing’ her body twice a year. This mainly involves cutting out carbohydrates, dairy products, meat, caffeine and alcohol over the course of 28 days.
In her guide, ‘Detox Your Life’, she penned: “The detox is not about counting calories or fat units, it’s about being aware of the kinds of foods we put into our bodies. It’s about eating more, not less.”
At the age of 63, she’s now dubbed a ‘rebel with a cause’, having taken a step back from television roles to focus more on advocating for truth and justice in politics. Her latest book details her journey to becoming a one-woman anti-corruption crusader, taking a stand against dishonesty and fraudulence in the British Establishment.
She commented: “I know what I stand for and I know what makes me happy.”
